China has reached a milestone in eradicating absolute poverty across the country. Through eight years of sustained work, all 832 impoverished counties were removed from the poverty list. Nearly 100 million people were lifted out of poverty, that’s about 1,500 people per hour. China has achieved a miracle in history and reached the targets of the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development 10 years ahead of schedule. What’s behind the China miracle, and how can the country use its experiences to drive the global poverty reduction efforts?
