Australian households will soon receive an energy rebate in a bid by the federal government to provide temporary relief for soaring power prices.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese met virtually with premiers and chief ministers for national cabinet on Friday, where they thrashed out a plan to provide struggling families with temporary cost relief.

“The commonwealth will provide up to $1.5 billion to provide support for households and also small businesses. This will be paid through state governments by reducing people’s bills.”
