  1. Your problem is with gas and fossil fuels, not renewables. Those in combination with renewable hydrogen and other storage provide stable energy costs over decades and electric cars are much more efficient than petrol. Insulating the buildings would also reduce any energy shocks even while fossil fuels are still in the market, had that been done already people would not be facing such a crisis since energy consumption would likely be far lower than what it is now.
