South China Morning Post published this video item, entitled “Endangered seabird, greater crested tern, thrives in China’s Zhejiang nature reserve” – below is their description.
A conservation project in China’s Jiushan Islands National Nature Reserve has seen a measure of success to save the greater crested tern. The seabird is under the red list of threatened species by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), and in the category of “least concern” among endangered species. According to staff at the reserve, since launching the project in 2013 more than 4,600 crested terns, including the rarer Chinese crested terns, have made a home in the reserve.
