An endangered Rothschild’s giraffe was rescued from a flooded island in Kenya in January 2021. It was the third one to be saved as water levels rose around the lake and the land continued to shrink, threatening the survival of trapped animals. Rescuers said the six remaining giraffes will be moved in the coming months.
