Election 2020: Who will Joe Biden pick as his Vice-President? – BBC Newsnight

US Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden has pledged to pick a woman as his running mate in the upcoming 2020 US election, but who is he likely to choose? Subscribe to our channel here: https://goo.gl/31Q53F

Joe Biden, the Democratic hopeful for the presidential election in November will be picking his running mate in the days to come.

The Vice President is, as the cliche goes, only a heartbeat away from the presidency. In the age of coronavirus – with two candidates well into their seventies – perhaps that proximity has never been felt more keenly.

Joe Biden has said he will choose a woman – and the bets are strong he may choose a woman of colour.

Mr Biden previously served as Vice-President under President Obama between 2009-2017.

But what are the chances of the man who is currently pulling ahead in the polls? What does he have to do to win?

US Correspondent David Grossman reports from Washington DC.
