The Chinese city of Mohe has recorded its lowest temperature since records began.
The air was so cold that an egg broken outdoors by a journalist froze within a few seconds.
Mohe, which borders Russia, is known as as “China’s North Pole” and is the country’s northernmost city.
The coldest temperature ever recorded in China is -58C, in the city of Genhe, Inner Mongolia in December 2009.
