7NEWS Australia published this video item, entitled “Drummoyne MP John Sidoti speech to parliament, attacks ICAC | 7NEWS” – below is their description.
In a speech to state parliament, now-suspended Drummoyne MP John Sidoti delivered a lengthy attack on the NSW Independent Commission Against Corruption.
“ICAC has robbed me of my dignity. My career. My reputation. And, my future prospects.”
In a direct message to Chris Minns, he cautioned the NSW Labor leader about ICAC, saying that “this frankenstein monster is out of control, and nobody is safe.”
Last month, ICAC found the former Liberal state MP had engaged in serious corrupt conduct to try to improperly influence Liberal councillors at the City of Canada Bay Council to adopt, and advance, certain positions in relation to the Five Dock town centre that would benefit his family’s property interests in the area.
The government, with support from Labor, moved a motion today to suspend Mr Sidoti from the NSW Parliament. The motion will suspend the Drummoyne MP from the parliament through to November 25, or until further orders are made.
