Al Jazeera English published this video item, entitled “DRC buries murdered independence hero Lumumba’s remains” – below is their description.
A ceremony has been held in the Democratic Republic of the Congo in honour of its inaugural prime minister and independence hero, Patrice Lumumba, who was assassinated in 1961.
His golden tooth – the only known part of him that remained after Belgian mercenaries dissolved his body in a barrel of acid – was placed in a newly constructed mausoleum in the capital, Kinshasa.
Hundreds gathered to pay their respects.
