A giant elephant and her calf in Thailand had a harrowing accident after the one-year-old baby elephant fell into a drain hole in Khao Yai National Park. The incident on July 13, 2022, led to park rangers being deployed for the rescue, which ended with the crew having to sedate the mother, before having to resuscitate her after she fainted from the ordeal. Both mother and baby elephant have been returned to safety in the wild.
