Dozens wounded as Israeli forces raid Al-Aqsa compound

Al Jazeera English published this video item, entitled “Dozens wounded as Israeli forces raid Al-Aqsa compound” – below is their description.

Dozens of Israeli forces stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound on Monday, firing rubber-coated bullets, tear gas, and sound bombs at Palestinian worshippers on the 28th day of Ramadan.

At least 215 people are said to have been wounded in the latest outbreak of violence in and around the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in occupied East Jerusalem.

Already simmering tensions are being further inflamed by a planned march later on Monday by right-wing Israeli nationalists for an event they call Jerusalem Day.

The annual “Jerusalem Day Flag March” marks the day East Jerusalem was occupied in 1967, and later annexed by Israel.

The move is not recognised by a majority of the international community.

Al Jazeera’s Harry Fawcett reports live from the Occupied East Jerusalem.
