During the first night of the Republican National Convention (RNC) on Monday, U.S. President Donald Trump’s son, Donald Trump Jr., delivered a speech where he praised his father’s policies as being like “rocket fuel to the economy,” and addressed the many protests taking place across the country.
Trump Jr. also called Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden, “Beijing Biden,” believing that if elected, he would “weaken” the country economically and on the world stage. He said that he believes Biden is “weak on China” because of intelligence community reports that the Chinese Communist Party supposedly favours him over Trump.
The RNC is four days long, and while the president is expected to formally accept the nomination on Thursday with a speech from the White House, he is reportedly also going to make appearances each night of the convention, though it’s not confirmed whether this will be through live remarks, speeches or prerecorded video segments.
