    A mother rushed into the hospital with her two-year-old daughter, who had food stuck in her throat. Tan Yi, chief physician of the anesthesiology department, used the Heimlich maneuver as an emergency treatment. He saw the girl’s face and lips were pale, out of breath, and she was not able to speak.
