Gurkha veterans threatened by the rapid spread of Covid-19 in Nepal, are asking the British government for help.

Many of them live in remote Himalayan villages and the country has no vaccine stocks of its own. The Foreign Office says it stands “shoulder to shoulder” with Nepal and has sent ventilators and now vaccines.

But more than 70 retired British Army Gurkhas have already died from the virus there.
