Demand for gender dysphoria services is surging, but advocates say supply is lagging | ABC News

Advocates for Australia’s transgender, non-binary and gender diverse children say access to psychologists and hormone therapy is becoming increasingly difficult, leaving those affected at risk of severe mental health issues.
There are increasing calls for a specific clinic at Adelaide’s Women’s and Children’s Hospital to help young people with gender identity issues and dysphoria.
The Children’s Commissioner says the wait time for specialist care is increasing and one family with first hand experience of the system believes a mental health crisis is looming if it’s not addressed.
