Cyclone Yaas bore down on India’s east coast on Tuesday, with a tornado that swept through one area leaving at least two people dead.
The cyclone tore down trees and damaged homes, with an Indian Meteorological Department official saying the storm was expected to hit India’s eastern states of Odisha and West Bengal, as well as Bangladesh, on Wednesday.
Some experts said the tornado was linked to the incoming storm. Officials are urging people in Odisha’s Balasore district to move ahead of the storm.
