Cristiano Ronaldo will make his second debut for Manchester United against Newcastle at Old Trafford on Saturday, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed. The Norwegian boss wouldn’t say whether Ronaldo will start his first game for the club in 12 years, but praised the 36-year-old Portugal star for his fitness. Ronaldo wants to be in the starting line-up against Newcastle after training for four days at Carrington following a £19.8million move from Juventus, but Solskjaer insists he will make the final decision.

Portugal is a southern European country on the Iberian Peninsula, bordering Spain. Its location on the Atlantic Ocean has influenced many aspects of its culture: salt cod and grilled sardines are national dishes, the Algarve’s beaches are a major destination and much of the nation’s architecture dates to the 1500s–1800s, when Portugal had a powerful maritime empire.
