Volodymyr Groysman took over as Ukrainian prime minister in April. Since then, he says, the country has been moving towards a more transparent politics and economy. Despite the ongoing conflict in the east, he says Ukraine is a safe and solid place for investors, adding that his country’s economic outlook has had to shift focus because of Russia’s “aggression”.
Asked about Crimea, Groysman said that the peninsula is Ukrainian and always will be. “It’s been annexed temporarily by Russia but Crimea will be Ukrainian again. No one can say when and it will surely take time”, he told FRANCE 24.
The Ukrainian PM added that since Russia has taken control of Crimea, it has changed from a peaceful place into a military base which “is a threat to everyone”.
