Health Secretary Sajid Javid gives a coronavirus update from Downing Street.

He is joined by Dr Jenny Harries, the chief executive of the UK health security agency and Prof Stephen Powis, medical director of NHS England.

Covid cases in the UK are currently rising and pressure on the NHS is growing, with around 1,000 hospitalisations per day.

However, deaths from the virus remain low.

The government announced it will not be implementing its Covid Plan B measures at this time.
