  • Global News published this video item, entitled “COVID-19 vaccine rule for Broadway show raises travel concerns for AstraZeneca recipients” – below is their description.

As Broadway prepares to resume live theatre productions, its decision to allow only those who have been inoculated with U.S. Food and Drug Administration-approved vaccines has raised international travel concerns, especially for Canadians who received the AstraZeneca COVID-19 shot.

The FDA did not approve AstraZeneca: only those manufactured by Moderna, Pfizer-BioNTech, and Johnson and Johnson are cleared for use.

Bio-ethics professor Kerry Bowman called the Springsteen announcement the “tip of the iceberg,” triggering an important debate over vaccine passports and the need for universal guidelines as travel demand increases.

    Sean O’Shea reports.
