Much of the English hospitality sector is due to reopen on Saturday, but pubs and restaurants in one city will remain closed for an extended period.
Government officials have recommended the current lockdown measures remain in force in Leicester for an extra two weeks, due to a surge in COVID-19 cases.
Local officials have complained that there was not sufficient data to draw clear conclusions.
