Global News published this video item, entitled “COVID-19: Spain, Germany and France to resume use of AstraZeneca vaccine as UK PM Johnson to get jab” – below is their description.
Spain, Germany and France all announced on Friday they would be resuming vaccinations using the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine within the next week, just hours after the European Medicines Agency said it was still convinced the benefits of the dose outweighed the risks following an investigation into reports of blood clots that prompted more than a dozen nations to suspend its use.
France said it was expected it would resume its vaccine campaign using AstraZeneca as early as Friday, with Germany also to resume its rollout the same day. France’s prime minister, Jean Castex, said he also planned to receive the vaccine on Friday. Spain’s health minister said it would return to giving doses of the vaccine starting next Wednesday.
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Thursday also stressed the vaccine was safe and that he would be receiving the AstraZeneca dose on Friday. The U.K. did not suspend use of the jab, despite Ireland being among the countries that did.
