Social isolation and disruption of daily life have also triggered the symptoms of obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) in children suffering from the disease.
The International OCD Foundation says 2-4 percent of all children will develop OCD before they reach adulthood, which means millions of families around the world are struggling.
Al Jazeera’s Natasha Ghoneim reports from Miami Beach, US.
