For more: Global spikes in confirmed COVID-19 cases are sounding the alarm bells for the upcoming winter. Worldwide cases topped 40 million according to Johns Hopkins University. In Europe, widespread infections have forced several countries to reissue curfews and other restrictions. And the United States, which leads in confirmed cases in the world, is seeing a record number of daily infections. The number of new cases even surged to nearly 89,000 last Saturday. Here in China, new asymptomatic and imported cases have been reported. The Kashi Prefecture in northwestern Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region identified 164 new asymptomatic cases as of Monday. It’s the highest number of new asymptomatic infections since China began reporting such cases in April. #COVID19 #Coronavirus
