COVID-19 | Empty streets of Paris after virus lockdown

#Paris’ streets were empty on Thursday as the French government imposed a #lockdown in the entire country and for at least 15 days to tackle the spread of new #coronavirus.

Gatherings with family and friends are prohibited and workers should only commute to their jobs if working from home isn’t feasible.

French president Emmanuel Macron said the government adopted strict limits because people had not respected previous advice for social distancing.

Anyone caught violating the new measures is getting a 135 Euros (145 US dollars) fine from policemen and gendarmes.
