South Australia’s emergency management declaration has been lifted after 793 days, marking a major shift in how the state manages the COVID-19 pandemic. It comes after COVID legislation to amend the state’s Public Health Act passed parliament last week. COVID-19 was declared a Major Emergency by State Coordinator and Police Commissioner Grant Stevens on March 22, 2020.

Premier Peter Malinauskas, Chief Public Health Officer Professor Nicola Spurrier, State Coordinator Grant Stevens and Health Minister Chris Picton provide the latest update.
