It’s not just the Victorian outbreak that has health authorities on high alert this week.

The World Health Organization has also reported the biggest-ever global increase in cases in a single day.

  • a persistent new cough (non productive, dry)
  • a high temperature (e.g. head feels warm to the touch)
  • shortness of breath (if this is abnormal for the individual, or increased)
