Canada’s oilsands continue to be ravaged by COVID-19, with more than a dozen active outbreaks in northern Alberta – a province already seeing some of the worst infections rates in the country.
The Canadian Natural Resource’s Horizon site remains the biggest outbreak there, with nearly 1,500 COVID-19 cases and three related deaths.
On top of the threat of the virus, workers caught in that outbreak are now alleging that the conditions on site are unsafe.
