He said while they currently don’t have the testing capacity they would like, the target would allow them to make a “substantial difference” in tracking and tracing. Johnson’s government is facing frustration and anger from residents in the U.K. as lab capacity is leaving people struggling to get a COVID-19 test. People have said they could not make appointments through the government website, while others have been turned away after the lineups at testing centres reached a certain amount.
