Global News published this video item, entitled “Coronavirus: Trump supporters react to president’s positive COVID-19 test” – below is their description.
Supporters of U.S. President Donald Trump in Palm Springs, Calif. expressed concern and wished him well on Friday after he tested positive for the coronavirus. Trump, who has played down the threat of the coronavirus pandemic from the outset, said early on Friday that he and his wife Melania were going into quarantine after testing positive for the virus, which has killed more than 200,000 Americans and severely damaged the U.S. economy. “I’m scared,” said Trump supporter Julianna Balogh, who was handing out “Trump 2020” masks she and her friends made from her Trump-decorated car. “It’s, like, heartbreaking inside, but he’s a strong man. He’ll get through it,” said Trump supporter Katie Jones, 36, from San Diego. Though the virus has killed more Americans than any other nationality, Trump has repeatedly predicted that it will fade away. He frequently flouts social-distancing guidelines and at Tuesday’s debate ridiculed Biden for wearing a mask. Trump denies accusations that he downplayed the severity of the outbreak. “I don’t feel like he did downplay it,” said Jones. “I think that he tried to protect the American people from hysteria and panic. As the president, he’s put himself all over the place trying to, you know, express how he feels as a president for the United States. And, yeah, he’s put himself in a lot of vulnerable situations because he is the president.” MORE: https://globalnews.ca/news/7373846/doanld-trump-coronavirus-mild-symptoms/ For more info, please go to http://www.globalnews.ca Subscribe to Global News Channel HERE: http://bit.ly/20fcXDc Like Global News on Facebook HERE: http://bit.ly/255GMJQ Follow Global News on Twitter HERE: http://bit.ly/1Toz8mt Follow Global News on Instagram HERE: https://bit.ly/2QZaZIB #TrumpCOVIDPositive #GlobalNews #COVID19
