Global News published this video item, entitled “Coronavirus: Quebec premier says situation “critical” as 3 regions move to red alert” – below is their description.
Quebec Premier Francois Legault announced Monday that three regions in the province, including the regions of Montreal, Quebec City and Chaudière-Appalaches, would move to “red alert” as Quebec continues to deal with rising COVID-19 cases, a situation which Legault described as “critical.” Legault denied that his government has “dropped the ball” as officials introduced new COVID-19 restrictions in an effort to curb rising case numbers and stop the second wave of the virus. He said hospitals in Quebec are “still under control” and that deaths in the province remain low. Quebec reported 750 new infections of the novel coronavirus on Monday, bringing the current caseload to 72,651, which is the highest in Canada.
