Coronavirus: Quarter of UK pubs, bars and restaurants could go bust by end of 2020 | ITV News

ITV News published this video item, entitled “Coronavirus: Quarter of UK pubs, bars and restaurants could go bust by end of 2020 | ITV News” – below is their description.

As the Prime Minister faces growing calls to help protect jobs, ITV News can reveal the devastating extent of the threat to pubs, hotels and restaurants. Without more support, a quarter of hospitality businesses say they will go bust by Christmas – potentially putting hundreds of thousands of people out of work. That’s according to a survey by trade bodies, carried out even before yesterday’s announcement that venues would have to shut at 10pm. Tomorrow the Chancellor will set out how he plans to keep the economy afloat.
