Global News published this video item, entitled “Coronavirus: Police in Ohio shut down house party after host claims ‘they all’ have COVID-19” – below is their description.
Police body-camera from Labour Day weekend showed a officer responding to a house party on Sept. 5, which earned six Miami University students in Ohio citations for violating COVID-19 health orders after throwing a house party, despite several residents having the coronavirus. During an interaction with one of the students, the officer ran his ID through a police database and discovered he had tested positive for COVID-19. When questioned about the test, which the student said happened about a week prior, the student added that the others who live at the home also had COVID-19. In the body camera, several people who were at the house were told to leave, but the officer still questioned them over the fact they had people over despite the fact they were supposed to be quarantining. According to reports, a university spokesperson did not respond to questions about whether the students would be suspended. The university has reportedly been the biggest contributor to Butler County’s case count since mid-August, with 1,117 cases coming from the school– a majority of which were diagnosed in the last two weeks. Many of the cases have been attributed to off-campus house parties.
