Coronavirus panic buyers ‘should be ashamed’ says NHS Director as world leaders call for calm

Channel 4 News in the UK featured the director of the British National Health Service (NHS) who told how “panic buyers” “should be ashamed”:

Frankly, we should all be ashamed: the tough message from NHS England as they joined the Government to urge people to stop panic buying and think of others instead, not least frontline healthcare staff who need access to food and supplies.

And on the need for everyone to follow social distancing there was this: “your action will save someone’s life – it is as simple and stark as that.”

Bearing in mind it is 16 days since Prime Minister Boris Johnson claimed the UK should operate business as usual, perhaps panic buyers shouldn’t be the only people chastised for their shameful response to the Covid-19 crisis in the UK? What do you think – leave a moderated public comment, below.
