Health Canada has approved the first made-in-Canada rapid COVID-19 test, the Spartan Cube.

The test promises to deliver results in under an hour and is one more tool that can be used in the fight against COVID-19, because it could be used not only in labs and hospitals, but even in offices and corporations.

The Spartan Cube surfaced early on in the pandemic, but was recalled a month after it received federal approval due to concerns about its effectiveness. Following several clinical trials, it was submitted for approval and approved this week. Abigail Bimman explains what the company did in order for that approval to be received once more.
