Coronavirus: desperate appeals for protective clothing from hospitals and councils – BBC News

There have been more urgent appeals for protective clothing for people working at the frontline of the coronavirus crisis.

The head of an NHS trust in Southern England has said he is contacting the British fashion house Burberry, who have offered to make gowns for the NHS, because he doesn’t have enough gowns for staff to get through tomorrow.

Meanwhile the leader of Birmingham city council has written to the government warning that the city will run out of protective face masks within two weeks.
