Coronavirus death toll passes 1,000… and it’s officially named ‘Covid-19’

A businessman who’s believed to have inadvertently infected up to 11 other Britons with coronavirus says he is recovering well – and thanked the NHS for his treatment.


The global death toll has now passed 1,000. And the World Health Organisation has officially renamed the virus Covid 19, urging countries to be “as aggressive as possible” in fighting it.
