Global News published this video item, entitled “Coronavirus: Canadian officials give update on vaccine rollout | FULL” – below is their description.
Maj.-Gen. Dany Fortin, who is in charge of Canada’s vaccine rollout provided an update on Thursday into where the country sits in getting doses to Canadians.
Last Thursday, Fortin said that Canada will receive approximately 946,000 doses of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine over the next two weeks, and that the company has confirmed doses into March. He said Canada is on track to receive four million doses by the end of March.
When asked how Canada’s vaccine strategy compares to other countries, the country’s deputy chief public health officer, Dr. Howard Njoo, on Thursday said the focus should not be on comparison’s with other countries but on whether Canada is meeting its vaccine distribution goals.
Njoo said that distribution is expected to ramp up at the end of March, which is in line with what Canadian health experts had predicted.
