    Canadian federal health authorities held a press conference Tuesday to provide an update on the latest COVID-19 numbers and vaccine rollout.

    The conference came with the UK starting its first day of vaccinating people after being the first country in the world to approve the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine.

    Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced Monday an initial batch of 249,000 doses of Pfizer’s vaccine to be delivered starting next week.

    Health Canada is expected to approve the vaccine soon after the U.S. Food and Drug Administration meets to discuss its own approval on Thursday.
