Global News published this video item, entitled “Coronavirus: Canada’s top doctor recommends 3-layer non-medical masks to curb COVID-19 spread” – below is their description.
Nearly 3,000 new COVID-19 cases were reported in Canada on Tuesday, with more than 1,000 cases in Ontario. Canada’s top doctor said during a briefing that every little thing Canadians do over the coming weeks and months could affect the spread of the virus, and provided new advice when it comes to wearing masks.
Dr. Theresa Tam now says Canadians should be wearing three-layer masks with a filter to curb the spread of COVID-19, a recommendation that was made by the World Health Organization in June. Asked why the recommendation was being made only now, Tam said with more people returning to indoor spaces in cold weather, the three layers will help stop more droplets from being expelled. Mike Le Couteur has more.
