Coronavirus: Boris Johnson’s chief adviser accused of breaking lockdown rules – BBC News

It’s emerged that the Prime Minister’s chief adviser, Dominic Cummings, travelled out of London during the lockdown while ill with coronavirus symptoms. It’s claimed that he was questioned by the police after travelling to Durham in breach of the lockdown rules.

It came as the government announced a new £1,000 fine for anyone arriving in the UK from abroad and failing to self-isolate for 14 days. The new quarantine rule is being introduced from June 8th. Ministers say it will help prevent a second wave of coronavirus infections.
