Global News published this video item, entitled “Coronavirus: Biden compares US COVID-19 deaths to Canada, comments on vaccine touted by Trump” – below is their description.
U.S. Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden on Wednesday questioned comments that President Donald Trump made on a Tuesday night town hall in which he said he would not have done anything different in terms of the country’s COVID-19 response, comparing the number of deaths in the country on Sept. 11 – which topped 1,000 – to Canada, which saw no deaths the same day. Biden also refuted a reporter’s suggestion that people should trust a COVID-19 vaccine if it’s approved when he’s president, if he’s elected, instead saying that if scientists approve of a vaccine when Trump is still in office, it should be taken. He added though, this should only come if three questions he laid out are answered, which include whether the vaccine meets safe and effective scientific standards; that the administration can answer who will validate the decision of green-lighting a vaccine was made based on science; and how can the distribution of the vaccine be distributed safely and cost-free.
