British Columbia’s chief medical officer of health Dr. Bonnie Henry provided a COVID-19 update on Thursday. The update comes after Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said Wednesday that Canada was “on the brink” of a coronavirus surge and that the four biggest provinces were already in a second wave. The province reported 148 new cases of COVID-19 and two new deaths on Thursday. The number of active cases in the province edged downward by six overnight to 1,371, Henry said The number of people in isolation due to potential exposure continued to climb, however. It reached another new record of 3,417. About 30 exposures have been reported in schools but no outbreaks had been recorded to date, Henry said.
