Coronavirus: Animation shows difference in air traffic before and after lockdowns

This animation doesn’t have any commentary – and it doesn’t need any, either. The picture on the left shows European air traffic before Coronavirus lockdowns, and the one on the right shows after.

An animated graphic released by an international aviation organisation shows the dramatic impact the coronavirus lockdowns have had on air travel across the globe. Eurocontrol, which manages flight networks across Europe, said Europe’s largest airports are now managing up to 90 per cent fewer flights compared to April 2019.
