Coronavirus: Andy Serkis to live-read Hobbit nonstop for charity

Gollum actor Andy Serkis will do a continuous live reading of the Hobbit – and he’s promised to do ‘all the voices’. Money raised from the performance, expected to last 10 to 12 hours, will be donated to NHS Charities Together and Best Beginnings. On his GoFundMe page, he said: ‘Starting at 10am on Friday 8th May GMT (5am EST, 2am PST), I’ll be embarking on a marathon reading of The Hobbit – from cover to cover, there and back again. The entire book. A Hobbitathon!’
