Alberta confirmed 1,077 new cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, chief medical officer of health Dr. Deena Hinshaw said Thursday. The province’s top doctor said more than 15,900 tests were completed. That means Alberta’s positivity rate is about seven per cent. As of Thursday, there were 383 Albertans in hospital, with 84 of those people in intensive care units. Ten deaths were reported to Alberta Health in the last 24 hours, Hinshaw said. She was also joined by health minister, Tyler Shandro, as they addressed leaked audio from a cabinet committee meeting in June.
