Jeremy Corbyn has called Labour’s move to apologise and pay damages to antisemitism whistleblowers a “political decision, not a legal one”.
The former Labour leader said it “risks giving credibility” to inaccurate allegations about the party’s handling of antisemitism.
The party paid out a six-figure sum to seven former employees, admitting it defamed them after they appeared in a BBC Panorama investigation by saying they had “political axes to grind”.
