The Independent published this video item, entitled “Cop26: Boris Johnson says Coca-Cola producing ‘overwhelming bulk’ of world’s plastic” – below is their description.

Boris Johnson named Coca-Cola as one of 12 corporations “producing the overwhelming bulk of the world’s plastics”.

In the Cop26 news conference with children, the PM said: “There are about 12 companies at the moment, 12 big corporations, that are producing the overwhelming bulk of the world’s plastics.”

He added: “Coca-Cola, for instance, and others, which are responsible for producing huge quantities of plastic, and we’ve got to move away from that and we’ve got to find other ways of packaging and selling our stuff.”

Misleading Headline

NOTE: the original title on this content was from The Independent, who in the body of their description explain that 12 companies produce the “overwhelming bulk” of plastic. The original title is therefore factually inaccurate and broadly misleading as a consequence. The title here at The Global Herald has been edited accordingly. The original title remains in the first paragraph, as it accurately describes the (incorrect) title used in the video.
