A regional Queensland MP is calling for the Federal Government to change a law that currently prevents medical practitioners from consulting on voluntary assisted dying over the phone.
Barry O’Rourke fears rural residents who rely on telehealth will be cut off from being able to die with dignity.
“If you don’t have the doctors would you expect someone that’s in their final stages of life to get on a plane to be assessed in Brisbane?”
