Commanding officers need to be ‘held to account’: Gleeson

Sky News Australia published this video item, entitled “Commanding officers need to be ‘held to account’: Gleeson” – below is their description.

Sky News host Peter Gleeson says those investigating the alleged war crimes should “look at the commanding officers and their role” because they may have been aware of the alleged situations. “I do know one thing, 99 per cent of our soldiers are exemplary in the way they conduct themselves and I would urge whoever is trying to get to the bottom of what actually went on here to look at the commanding officers and their role. “You cannot for the life of me suggest we have situations with the seriousness of these allegations where commanding officers and very serious military brass were not aware. “They need to be held to account; they are as culpable as those who are allegedly involved in these accusations.”
